Today is Jacob and my wedding anniversary. We spent the day doing exactly what we love – hanging out together, cooking, with no real plans.
After church, we had groceries to pick up and decided we were going to try to make a better chili than I made yesterday haha!
Turns out, the impromptu decision and grocery store trip was exactly how this recipe was born. …and dare I say, those are the best kinds of recipes!

This chili is homemade-adjacent. It’s hearty, easy, and made with ground beef, beans, tomatoes, warm spices, and a few shortcut ingredients that give it big, slow-simmered flavor without a lot of fuss.
If you’re looking for something cozy, filling, and perfect for Sunday supper, game day, or any night you need something warm and satisfying – look no further!
…Not to mention, it feeds a crowd. And if you don’t have a crowd, give some to your neighbor or tuck a batch away in the freezer for later.
Jacob’s Sunday Chili

- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 packet Chili-O seasoning
- 1 can sweet basil tomato paste 4 oz can
- 1 can chili ready tomatoes
- 16 oz beef broth or more depending on how thick you like it
- 1½ tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp cumin

- 1 can pinto chili beans

- Stir in tomato paste until dissolved. Add in chili ready tomatoes & rotel. Stir to combine.
- Add in beans, chili magic, and Wendy's chili. Stir to combine.
- Let simmer for 20 minutes for best flavor. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve!
- Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, chives, hot sauce, avocado, bacon, and/or whatever your heart desires!
